Abernethy Attacks FAIR, Fred Elbel PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 21 April 2005
The feud inside the anti-immigrant movement continues to expand, particularly the vitriol between self-proclaimed white "separatist" Virginia Abernethy (Protect Tennessee Now, Protect America Now, Council of Conservative Citizens, Occidental Quarterly) and the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).

Abernethy most recently accused FAIR of attempting to undermine the anti-immigrant vigilante Minuteman Project. On April 20, 2005 she emailed supporters claiming,

"I have heard rumors that FAIR was working to undermine the Minuteman Project and now I see the tool they used. It is the message below where Fred Elbel of Colorado announces that the Project is over.

Nothing could be farther from the truth. The message is false."

The culprit assisting FAIR, according to Abernethy's email, is Fred Elbel,  director of the Colorado Alliance for Immigration Reform (CAIR), a media liaison for the Minuteman Project, and a leader in SUSPS (the anti-immigrant faction attempting to takeover the Sierra Club).

Times have certainly changed for the two anti-immigrant activists. Until recently, Abernethy was still listed as an advisor to CAIR, and during skirmishes within the Sierra Club Elbel defended Abernethy.
